In 2014 we set out from Canada with a plan and a calling to serve in Malawi. We were certain that it was God's desire, so ours as well. When we encountered the people of "the warm heart of Africa" (Malawi's nickname) that sense of calling was confirmed. We fell in love with the people and their country. We believed that God was making the way straight before us.
We have learned, however, that God's ways are not our ways, and His road almost always looks different that we imagine. Our Malawi plans were detoured and we spent a challenging, exciting and fruitful 3-1/2 years in Zambia; learning, growing, and building strong relationships.
It might look like a turkey trail as we wander like this roadrunner, but we need to trust that God is directing us.
In His perfect timing, the path has turned back into Malawi. With willing hearts, we prepare to follow.
